How switching from provision of a basic disposable e-cigarette to more modern products was received by inpatients at a mental health rehab ward in Dorset. Plus other aspects to consider in supporting smokers with mental ill health who do not always wish to, or feel they are able to quit, to escape the harm that combustible tobacco causes.

Smoking cessation treatment for people with depression and anxiety

Katherine will discuss smoking cessation and mental health, patient and health care professionals' views about integrating smoking cessation treatment into outpatient psychological services for common mental illness, and the ESCAPE Trial - a randomised controlled feasibility trial testing a bespoke smoking cessation intervention for people with depression/anxiety in mental health settings.
